Orlova South matches contributions to Rescue Trust Editorial content for AIRWAVES magazine (29 March 2008) Discerning international visitors will have the opportunity to contribute to the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust as the result of an initiative by Orlova South. Customers’ contributions will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Orlova South’s owners Richard and Raewyn Sturzaker. “We were both committed to supporting such an excellent cause as the rescue helicopter and we wanted to give our customers the opportunity as well,” says Raewyn Sturzaker. Orlova South launched in January 2008 with an entirely new concept for small group of high-end customers. The full sized coach features only 12 seats and is equipped with features usually only found at home. There is a BBQ tucked away in an exterior compartment and a TV with Sky connection. Business guests and small conference groups could even hold their meetings comfortably on board, as the seating arrangements allow reconfiguration and there is a kitchen and bathroom available. It is believed Orlova South is the only tour operator to carry a defibrillator. “We designed the coach elements ourselves as we want to take our customers in style, with as many comforts and amenities as possible – the concept is similar to business class in an aircraft but with quite a few additional comforts”, adds Richard Sturzaker. Orlova South tours access hidden gems and iconic scenic locations and the itineraries can be developed to suit the customer. “Our enquiries so far have included entertainment stars’ management, international corporate business groups and international leisure clients seeking luxury as they tour”. Orlova South holds a Qualmark™ license, which is based on an independent assessment by the tourism industry’s official quality agency, Qualmark New Zealand.
